How to make a hidden folder

By

In this tutorial I will teach you how to make a hidden/invisible folder! It is really cool.

Now lets get started. First of all we need to create a new folder. Right click on your desktop and and select new>folder!

Once you have made a new folder you will need to change the icon (which is the folder picture). To do this you will need to right click and press properties!

Once you have pressed properties press on the customize tab on the top of the properties window!

Now press change icon near the bottom. It should lead you to a bunch of different icons. Find some blank icons (empty spaces) and click on them. Next press apply.

This should make your icon disappear. Now for the text.

To make the text disappear right click on the folder and press rename. It is a bit different on a laptop unless you have the side numbers.

Once you have clicked rename you must hold ALT+255. 225 is pressed on the numbers located to the right/side of your keyboard. Once you have done this your folder should disappear. CONGRATULATIONS! You have made your first hidden folder!

How do it on a laptop!!!

Fist you will need to press Start>Run> and type in "charmap"! A screen should pop up with a bunch of letters that you probably won't understand. What you do is look for a box with nothing inside it. WARNING: Some blank boxes may not appear in the typing space so you may need to find a different blank box!

Once you have found this box you shall press on the blank symbol and click on it so that when you click you mouse in the typing area at the bottom a little space shall be there. Now click copy and go back to where your folder is located.

Right click on the Folder and press Rename. Now copy the code and your done!

How to delete an hidden/invisible icon on VISTA

To delete this folder on VISTA you will need to go to your desktop and hold shift and right click. Than it will say "Open Command Window Here"! Click on that and a black box should pop up with some writing. In this box type the following: "ren "(hold ALT+255. The same way you did it before.)" (anything you want. It doesn't matter because you are renaming the folder.

It should look something like this:

ren " " folder

Now whatever name you typed in at the end of the command will appear on the desktop. Now you just press "Delete" and it will be deleted!

Thank you and have a great day!
